What are my requirements?

  • 18 years old
  • Completed the Advanced Adventurer program (or qualifying certification from another organisation) with proof of deep, night and navigation dives.
  • Diver Stress and Rescue certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
  • SSI Divemaster certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
  • Proof of completion of a sanctioned CPR and first aid program within the past 24 months.
  • Proof of completion of a sanctioned oxygen first aid program within the past 24 months.
  • RSTC Medical clearance signed by a physician within one year.
  • 80 logged dives

How long will it take?

Program takes about 6 days.

Expand your teaching opportunities by instructing specialty courses after completing the Specialty Instructor program. Take your career to the next level by completing the Instructor Training Course (ITC) and becoming a certified SSI Open Water Instructor.
