Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is one of the most popular entry level diver courses in the world. Throughout the course you learn the necessary skills, gain the knowledge and also learn to plan and conduct dives on your own. On completion of the course you can enjoy diving independent of supervision, with a buddy.

During the confined water (lagoon) dives you learn and master the dive skills: you gain the necessary knowledge by self-studying the manual. You apply the skills and the knowledge during your open water (ocean) dives. Through out the course you complete 5 confined water dives, go over 5 knowledge development chapters and make 4 open water dives. Experience the greatest adventure there is.

What are my requirements?

You need to be in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water. To join the Open Water Dive course you need to be older than 14 years. 10 to 14 year olds can take part in the Junior Open Water Diver Course.

How long will it take?

PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Where can I go from there?

You can continue your adventure by taking the Adventures in Diving Program so that you can get more out of diving. If you have some specific area of interest in diving that you would like to explore you can do a Specialty Diver Course in that field.
